The
tour profile of South India with Exodus
goes from Bombay inland to Nashik - Aurangabad
to visit the caves at Ellora and Ajanta.
From Aurangabad the route goes south via Bijapur to Hospet /
Hampi for the ruins of the Vijayanagar empire.
From Hospet straight west to Goa and then south along the scenic
coast to Udipi and inland to Mysore.
The Nilgiri hills are climbed to get to Ooty at 2400 meters, and
descended a few days later to get to Cochin at the coast.
Across the southern part of India the route goes to Madurai,
mainly for the Meenakshi temple
and heads north towards Trichy and the Srirangam temple.
The last stretch takes you through Pondicherry up to
Mahabalipuram
and Madras as an option.
